The Genesis

Building on a Solid Foundation

Southwest Therapeutics is an extension of the trusted services provided by Southwest Pediatric and Family Care (SWPFC). Established by Dr. Florence Roque, SWPFC has been a cornerstone of healthcare in the region since its inception. Recognizing the growing need for specialized mental health services, Dr. Roque sought to expand SWPFC's offerings to include behavioral health care. This vision led to the creation of Southwest Therapeutics.

Our journey began in October 2023, when Dr. Roque applied for the "Rural Health Care Delivery Fund," a grant provided by the state of New Mexico. The goal of this grant was to enhance healthcare services in rural areas, addressing critical gaps in mental health care. In December 2023, Southwest Pediatric and Family Care was announced as one of the 55 grantees across the state. This grant allowed us to bring Southwest Therapeutics to life, extending our reach and impact in the community.
